Another Indonesian romantic drama feature film by young ang talented director, Hanung Bramantyo, will soo be released this year. Fans of Marcella Zalianty, Bucek Depp, and Arie U Kuncoro will be able to see their idols acting in the movie titled BROWNIES. The film is prodused by SinemArt, which also produced MENGEJAR MATAHARI.
The theme is simple, it is about love. Yep, love with its bittersweet stor-becomes the highlight that enriches the movie plot. The reason is quite obvious, love theme always attract more audiences to come to the cinema.
Mel (Marcella Zalianty), a copywriter in an advertising agency, has life that focused on her job. Although Mel is engaged to Joe (Phillips Yusup), Didi (Renia)-her closed friend-question if Joe is really Mel’s kind of guy.
Later in the story, Mels find out, that Jpe has been going out to another girl all this time. Then, Mel, met Are (Bucek Depp- young aartist who writes, own a bookstore, and make brownies. Are even has a small brownies shop that Mel loves to visit. Are’s artistic attitude and Joe’s betrayal have clearly affected Mel’s life.
Brownies is the first Indonesian movie that is shot using Panasonic High Definition Cameras, which results in a film that looka as if it’s recorded on standard elluloid film, while squeezing production cost.
